Ishq Vishk Rebound Review
Ishq Vishk Rebound is nothing like the 2003 Shahid Kapoor, Amrita Rao and Shenaz Treasurywala-led Ishq Vishk. This new-age romance addresses the issues seen in relationships today (not just boyfriend-girlfriend, but married couples too) and how individuals navigate through it. The Nipun Avinash Dhawmadhikari directorial is a blend of romance, comedy and drama with perfect doses of memorable songs with catchy steps, hard-hitting dialogues and life advice.
The film – shared from Raghav’s POV (Rohit Saraf), takes viewers on a journey from Dehradun to Mumbai and tells the story of friendship and love. Raghav, Sania (Pashmina Roshan) and Sahir (Jibraan Khan) are childhood besties. While Sania and Sahir are in a relationship – filled with several breakups and patch-ups, Raghav is the third wheel in their relationship and has to deal with their tantrums when they split. The equations change when during one such breakup, Raghav and Sania go on a trip and fall in love with each other.
Does this new love affect their friendship and their closeness? Read our Ishq Vishk Rebound Review to know if you should head to theatres to watch this film and find out the answer.
What’s Good
The film’s music and the actors’ smooth dance moves are the biggest highlights of the film. Aside from that, the way in which the makers deal with issues such as parental pressure, love in friendship and the effects it has on is also noteworthy.
Technical Analysis
Story, Screenplay & Dialogues
The story is a refreshing take on modern-day relationships and how individuals deal with the ups and downs that are a part of it. The screenplay is engaging thanks to a narrative that shows all shades of the characters and doesn’t make them seem two-dimensional.
Music
The foot-tapping music of Ishq Vishk Rebound not only adds dimension to the narrative but will also have you singing along while watching it on the big screen. While a couple of songs are recreated, every song in this Rohit Saraf, Pashmina Roshan, Jibraan Khan co-starrer has its distinctive taste – especially given the smooth dance moves and expression the stars have during them.
Ishq Vishk Rebound Star Performances
Rohit Safar is the shining star performer of Ishq Vishk Rebound. The actor – especially when he breaks the fourth wall, connects with the audience. His confusion, desperation and need to always be there for his friends is relatable. Aside from that, Rohit also successfully shows Raghav’s heartbreak and sadness through his eyes.
Pashmina Roshan is stylish and a breath of freshness on the big screen. From showcasing her character’s childishness to finally transforming into a mature young woman, the actress showcases her talent.
Jibraan Khan made the nation go gaga as Krish Raichand in Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham… and he’s once more done it with Ishq Vishk Rebound. The difference – this time the ladies are going to go crazy over his chocolate boy persona and amazing dance skills. Though Naila Grrewal has a limited role, the actress leaves an impact and has us rooting for her till the end.
The supporting star cast – including Kusha Kapila and Supriya Pilgaonkar, have some powerful dialogues that make them memorable too.
Conclusion
Ishq Vishk Rebound has the perfect blend of humour, romance, and thought-provoking sequences that will leave you wanting more. The main leads – Rohit, Jibraan, Pashmina and Naila, deliver believable performances that establish new and aww-worthy friendships and couple goals.
