Nikhil Advani who won a million hearts with ‘Kal Ho Na Ho’ has presented the old wine in a new bottle. But unfortunately this old wine did not get any better with time. Last week Nikhil Advani’s ‘Hero’ failed to impress us and this week he does it again. And that too with an actress like Kangana Ranaut in it. Maybe because Nikhil relied too much on Imran Khan to entertain us. Bad idea Nikhil!

So the movie starts with a silly bed room scene where the drunk live-in-couple Madhav Kabra aka Maddy (Imran Khan) and Payal (Kangana Ranaut) decide to get married then and there with whatever available props. Ketchup becomes the “Ek Chutki Sindoor” while the Mangalsutra is drawn with a pen on Kangana’s neck.

Then suddenly there’s a scene where Maddy mistakens phenly for beer and drinks two bottles of it. Well how can one mistake “2 bottles of Phenly?”

Post this the movie is just a break-up saga wherein Payal is supposed to have moved on in her life after her breakup while Imran has become a Devdas and is just not able to get over her. Everyone in Maddy’s life, from his family to friends to colleagues try to explain how he should move on. However an unconvinced Maddy seeks answers from Payal and wants to convince her to be back. Maddy learns that Payal is getting married to her ex-boyfriend and obviously the next thing he does is reaches the wedding venue. However Payal slaps him and insults him saying that everything was over between them.

So what happened next? How did Payal and Maddy get back together? Why had Payal broken up in the first place? Well, we don’t want to spoil your fun by revealing the entire story here.

The movie keeps going from FLASHBACK to PRESENT to FLASHBACK to PRESENT, with absolutely unsmooth transitions.

Talking about acting; well if you are going for Kangana Ranaut’s acting, please do not even consider watching the film. As even though she is the lead heroine, she hardly has a part to play.

Imran Khan is there in literally every scene of the movie. And he is no different or better now than he was in his previous movies. Also we wonder if Imran Khan thought that an “Airport scene” (like Jaane Tu ya Jaane Na) could save his movie, then well, he has highly mistaken.

Talking about songs; “Sarphira” begins really well with some fantastic strumming on the guitar however doesn’t manage to keep us glued to it. The song “Jaago Mohan Pyaare” makes me wonder if it is for the audiences to wake up. Seeing the song “Lip To Lip” one can clearly make out how hard they tried to work on the graphics and thus it appeared too overdone. The songs could definitely have been done better.

We wish we could see more of Kangana Ranaut in the film. We wish the romance, the live-in-relationship, the character building was better worked on. Also we wish the movie had been shown in present; rather than doing flashbacks at intervals.

All in all, go for the movie ONLY IF you wish to enjoy the pop corn or you have a company with whom, how the film is, doesn’t matter!
