What Works

Mismatched: Season 3 captivates fans with a diverse soundtrack that complements the series’ mood, featuring everything from the Sufi-inspired love anthem “Ishq Hai” to the heartfelt ballad “Do Din Ke Baad,” and a fresh take on first love with “Pyaar Hai.” The characters also deliver some catchy dialogues from Rohit, Prajakta, and others, building excitement for the series. One impactful line, “Pyaar me padna easy hai, pyaar ko nibhana sabse mushkil” (Falling in love is easy, but maintaining it is the hardest). The series promises to showcase the development of each character.

What Doesn’t Work

Some scenes don’t fit well, as a viewer if the scene or time shifts it’s difficult to keep up with it. Going back in time or future should have included some hints. If spoken about character development, the leads maintain their journey but the newly introduced characters could have been given more opportunity. Certain scenes are too cliche and don’t portray romance or love much. The series has a lot of cliffhangers that might spoil one’s interest in watching. It doesn’t balance reality and romance, it’s extreme in both cases.

Story

Time forward to 3 years now, Rishi Singh Shekhawat (Rohit Saraf) is a student at Nandini Nahata Institute of Technology (NNIT) while Dimple Ahuja (Prajakta Koli) is in Ambala with her parents. Both continue their long-distance relationship, and we can also see another couple, Anmol Malhotra (Taruk Raina) and Vinny(Ahsaas Channa). We also can see Siddhartha aka Sid sir (Rannvijay Singha) and Vidya Malvade (Zeenat Karim) in a happy relationship.

Rishi and Anmol are working on creating Betterverse, an AI-generated world where you can be a better version of yourself. The series delves into the concept of living two lives—one real and one virtual—while highlighting their motivations. It’ll be intriguing to see how Dimple and Rishi’s love story unfolds as they navigate this ‘Betterverse.’

A new character Rithika has been introduced. She is a Neymar fan and a fast coder, but she is dealing with something. She goes to Hyderabad to LLIT which has been opened by Sid sir with a plan. Who is this new character? What are her motives for joining LLIT? The series is themed around how the past can haunt your present and possibly your future. Will Rishi and Dimple find Rithika’s plan?
