The movies ‘Pink‘ helmed by Shoojit Sircar and ‘Raaz Reboot‘ helmed by Vikram Bhatt released together on September 16. Both the movies are poles apart, as ‘Pink’ is women-centric film while ‘Raaz Reboot’ taps the horror genre. The Saturday collections of the movies have a huge difference with ‘Pink’ earning more than ‘Raaz Reboot’.
The movie ‘Pink’ which was ably supported by the legend Amitabh Bachchan and had three actresses Taapsee Pannu, Kirti Kulhari and Andrea Tariang received a good response from the critics and cinemagoers. Positive word-of-mouth helped the film gain mileage on the second day and hence it earned Rs 7.50 crore on Saturday. The total 2-day business of the film stands at Rs 11.69 crore approximately. The film has earned on the lines of ‘Neerja’ and ‘Piku’ that also had similar collections on the second day of their release. High-end multiplex audience has been showing keen interest in the film and theatres in Mumbai, Delhi and Pune showed a good growth.
As far as ‘Raaz Reboot’ is concerned, the franchise factor and the presence of Emraan Hashmi couldn’t do much to benefit the film that didn’t impress the critics. The film did a business of Rs 4.75 crore on Saturday and the total 2-day collections of the film stand at Rs 9.88 crore approximately. Since, ‘Pink’ has been receiving rave reviews for it’s hard-hitting story-line and fabulous performances, ‘Raaz Reboot’ surely loses out on those aspects and has done poor business.
