First weekend: ‘Sarbjit’ bags Rs. 11.75 Cr

After its first weekend,  Randeep Hooda and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s ‘Sarbjit’ has bagged an amount of Rs. 11.75 Cr. Though the buzz about it was strong, the film has failed to perform accordingly at the box office.

‘Sarbjit’ opened at the box office on 20^th of May with a below average collection of Rs. 3 Cr. which followed with Rs. 4.75 Cr. on Saturday and Rs. 4 Cr. on Sunday.  Not a very strong go is being predicted.

Also starring Richa Chadha and Darshan Kumar, the film is about an Indian farmer Sarabjit Singh who was convicted in Pakistan on charges of spying and terrorism; and died apparently after being attacked by inmates in the jail after the judicial proceedings were over.
