Akshay Kumar and Huma Qureshi-starrer ‘Jolly LL.B 2’ made it to the theatres yesterday i.e. February 11, 2017, with a decent opening collection of Rs 12 crore. On its second day, the film has shown a good growth. It minted an amount of Rs 16.25 crore.
With this, it has a two-day business of Rs 28.25 crore in it’s kitty right now. It is expected that the collections will further escalate on Sunday.
Primary contributors to the box-office performance are North India and Mumbai. In fact, growth in Mumbai was far more noticeable. (Also Read: Arshad Warsi can’t stop praising Akshay Kumar after watching ‘Jolly LL.B 2’)
‘Jolly LL.B 2’ has the backdrop of UP. However, collections from the state weren’t great, probably because the film does not have a great depiction of UP’s law and order. Lucknow, however, showed a growth of around 50% on the second day.
Thankfully, the film was a solo release and has no major competitor who might be a potential threat commercially. Earlier releases ‘Raees’ and ‘Kaabil’ are still running in theatres. However, with ‘Jolly LL.B 2’ hitting the screens, they’ve slowed down to a large extent as well.
