Poor first week for ‘Baar Baar Dekho’ and ‘Freaky Ali’

Last week, two big budget movies ‘Baar Baar Dekho‘ and ‘Freaky Ali‘ hit the cinema halls. Both the movies were highly anticipated, but they didn’t quite live up to the expectations. Both the movies garnered a poor first week collection with ‘Baar Baar Dekho’ earning around Rs 29 crore nett and ‘Freaky Ali’ earned approximately Rs 12 crore nett.

Sidharth Malhotra and Katrina Kaif starrer ‘Baar Baar Dekho’ which was a love story did a low business in spite of the extended weekend due to Eid. Although, overseas it did show little signs of growth but overall the film could only collect Rs 29 crore nett. The next week will not see much growth as Amitabh Bachchan starrer ‘Pink’ and Emraan Hashmi starrer ‘Raaz Reboot’ release today.

Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Amy Jackson starrer ‘Freaky Ali’ may have trended more ‘Baar Baar Dekho’ initially, but it didn’t manage to hold strong and only earned around Rs 12 crore nett over the first week. Nawazuddin’s performance couldn’t help save the fate of the movie.

With ‘Pink’ and ‘Raaz Reboot’ entering the theatres today, let’s wait to see where these two movies stand in the second one.
