On the opening day (August 12), Akshay Kumar‘s ‘Rustom’ won over Hrithik Roshan starrer ‘Mohenjo Daro’. Even on Day 2, the trend continues as ‘Rustom’ has managed to mint Rs. 16.43 crore while ‘Mohenjo Daro’ has managed to accumulate Rs. 9.75 crore approx at the box-office.
After two days, ‘Rustom’ stands with Rs. 30.45 crore in its kitty while ‘Mohenjo Daro’ has managed to garner Rs. 18.50 crore approx.
‘Rustom’, on its second day, hit an occupancy rate of 70-75% at various multiplexes. August 15 is a national holiday and a good occupancy is expected on that day too.
Even in UAE, ‘Rustom’ is going great guns as it has earned approx AED 3.1 Million already!
‘Mohenjo Daro’ also showed slight growth in footfall but the collection didn’t improve much. There are chances of it grabbing more audience on Independence Day, but predictions do not promise a good week for the film.
‘Rustom’ is directed by Tinu Suresh Desai and produced under the banner of Zee Studio; while ‘Mohenjo Daro’, an Ashutosh Gowariker project, was produced by Sunita Gowariker and Siddharth Roy Kapur.
