Saif Ali Khan, Katrina Kaif starrer ‘Phantom’ has opened to a lukewarm response at the box office. The Kabir Khan directorial could not repeat the astounding success of his last film ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’. ‘Phantom’ that is based on the 26/11 Mumbai attacks did not make any waves at the box office too.
Trade Analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted,

‘Phantom’ is based on Hussain Zaidi’s book Mumbai Avengers, overseas the film fared slightly better than in domestic market. Taran Adarsh tweeted,
#Phantom has an impressive start in UAE. Day 1 is approx $ 180,000 or AED 662,000 [₹ 1.19 cr] across 62 screens. Some screens yet to report.

‘Phantom’ has been in news for being banned in Pakistan on the plea of the Jama’at-ud-Da’wah chief and notorious terrorist, Hafiz Saeed.
