Salman Khan’s film ‘Tubelight‘ has unfortunately become one of his average grosser films of all time. We had high expectation from this film especially after his last film ‘Sultan’ creating records at the box office. But ‘Tubelight’ failed to keep up with the trend. This Kabir Khan directorial had a slow start at the box office and despite being a pre-Eid release, it failed to pick up in the coming days. Though it managed to cross Rs 100 crore club, but not at the speed which was expected from Bhaijaan’s Eid release. The second weekend too proved to be poor for ‘Tubelight’. As per statistics, the second weekend collection of ‘Tubelight’ is of approximately Rs 7.50 crore, which is extremely dull.
‘Tubelight’ that also stars Matin Rey Tangu, Sohail Khan and Zhu Zhu along with Salman Khan received rave reviews from critics, but that could not translate it into box office numbers. This film did not have competition from any other film, but audiences apparently could not connect with ‘Tubelight’. Shah Rukh Khan had a cameo too in this film, but it could not save the film from failing.
Salman’s next film ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’ will release in December. (Also Read: Salman Khan gives out details of ‘Dabangg 3’, and his other upcoming films)
