‘Shubh Mangal Saavdhan’ holds well on Monday, while ‘Baadshaho’ sees a drop

After a good weekend for the movies ‘Baadshaho’ and ‘Shubh Mangal Saavdhan’, the Monday numbers witnessed a drop which was expected. However, if you compare the first day business of movies, then ‘Shubh Mangal Saavdhan’ has an upper hand as the numbers are similar to the opening day business.

The RS Prasanna directorial held quite well on Monday. The movie did a business of almost Rs 2.50 crore nett. The drop is just under 10% from the Friday numbers. The movie is doing better than ‘Bareilly Ki Barfi’ which also starred Ayushmann Khurrana in the lead role. So, the total collection of the movie stands at Rs 16.50 crore nett approximately. So in spite of a good hold it has to be seen how the movie fares from here on. The second Friday can tell if the movie is actually a hit. Talking about the other release ‘Baadshaho’, the collections witnessed a good drop as the movie raked in around Rs 5.25 crore nett which takes its four-day total to Rs 41.85 crore nett. The numbers have dropped by almost 50% from its opening day. In states like UP, Bihar and Nizam, the movie has dropped by by 20-30% and that is probably due to the after-effect of Eid. The movie is best in Bihar and could possible become the top film there after ‘Baahubali 2 – The Conclusion’. Now, it all depends on how well the film manages to hold over the next two days. Going by the current trend, the movie is aiming for Rs 54-55 crore nett.
