‘Happy Bhag Jayegi’ sets off with a poor start at the box office

Mudassar Aziz’s directorial venture ‘Happy Bhag Jayegi‘ that released yesterday opened to a poor start at the box office. The movie did a business of only Rs 2.25 crore nett on the day of its release. Even though the movie has got a slow start, let’s not quickly jump to conclusions and watch out for the numbers that come up today and tomorrow.

The movie touted as India’s first run-com was highly awaited for it marked the comeback of two actors, Diana Penty and Abhay Deol. It fared well in the North regions especially in Delhi/UP and East Punjab. The opening day collections stand at 25th position among the films that released this year. If the collections do not see an increase in the weekend, then the movie will lose out on being tagged as a blockbuster movie. We are clueless as to what must have led such a poor start for the movie that boasts of an ensemble cast and great music. Well, lets wait till Monday to see where the movie takes off from here.

‘Happy Bhag Jayegi’ directed by Musassar Aziz and produced by Aanand L Rai and Krishika Lulla released on Aug 19, 2016. The movies stars Diana Penty, Abhay Deol, Jimmy Sheirgill, Ali Fazal and Pakistani debutante Momal Sheikh.
