President Pranab Mukherjee to watch ‘Piku’

Filmmaker Shoojit Sircar’s recent release ‘Piku‘ has become a grosser at Box Office. The Amitabh Bachchan and Deepika Padukone starrer is now on the wishlist of President Pranab Mukherjee. The President of India is now planning to watch the movie. Megastar Amitabh Bachchan will be attending the special screening.

The movie Piku’ has been praised for its simplicity. It showcases the nuances of the beautiful relationship between a father and his daughter, set against the backdrop of a Bengali family. Apparently therefore the Honourable President, being a Bengali himself, wants to watch it.

Piku’ has managed to amass more than Rs 100 cr worldwide, with Rs 77.33 cr domestic collections. It has also been declared as the biggest grosser of the year for overseas markets.
