In November, Aamir Khan stirred a controversy with his comments on the issue of the rising intolerance in India. He expressed his concern over the same and people just lashed out at him calling him anti-national and questioned his patriotism. His integrity was put under scrutiny. But on his birthday, that is today, he came clear on the row.
When asked what was his reaction when his integrity was questioned, he said that people who raised a question were already biased against him and hence they will have a problem with whatever he does. He said, “Majority of the people know me. I have been connected with my fans for almost 27 years, so the people who questioned me, I think are the people who are already biased against me. So no matter what I do, people will question and raise a doubt. Hence, I don’t react to it.”
Further, he said that it’s necessary to be positive and you should know what you are doing. Your conscience needs to be clear and negativity will step aside.
He was also asked about his views on actors being a part of politics, to which he said, “One needs to have a passion for what he does. The people who are passionate enough to be a part of politics should enter politics and not just because they are a well-known celebrity. It is not necessary to be a politician to bring about a change in the society. With a designation of being an actor, I can do a lot of things for the well-being of the nation.”
Even his upcoming film ‘Dangal’ directed by Nitesh Tiwari revolves around women empowerment.
Point noted Aamir!
