Aamir Khan set to solve water crisis in Maharashtra

Aamir Khan has decided to take up the problem of water scarcity in the state. Mr Perfectionist, along with his friends, will embark on a tour and visit remote villages in Maharashtra to make the villagers aware of the benefits of water harvesting and how to preserve water. Aamir Khan had formed the ‘Paani Foundation’ for the endeavour with his wife Kiran Rao. The actor’s ex-wife Reena Dutta is the chief operating officer of the foundation.

The Dangal actor took the initiative and met the Governor of Maharashtra, Ch Vidyasagar Rao, and his wife Vinoda, at the Raj Bhavan. Here he discussed the ‘Satyamev Jayate Water Cup’ initiative with them. The eminent celebrity even discussed future plans of uniting Hindi and Marathi film personalities for his upcoming campaign trail through rural Maharashtra.

Sources said, “Aamir Khan held a bash at his home and invited his friends from Bollywood and the business world for dinner. The purpose of the meeting was to appraise the actors about Aamir’s plans for water harvesting and addressing the water scarcity problem. He has urged his friends to campaign along with him through the state with a team that will dig wells and teach villagers about water harvesting.”

Soon Aamir had his friends such as Saif Ali Khan, Rajkumar Hirani, Kangana Ranaut, Sunny Leone, Daniel Weber, Riteish Deshmukh, Sai Tamhankar, Reema Lagoo on board.
