Karan Johar is in the process of turning ‘official’ remake king in Bollywood. The producer who acquired the remake rights from Hollywood and Bollywood with ‘Warrior’ and ‘Ram Lakhan’ respectively, is now heading to Kollywood; the Tamil film industry. Karan Johar has bought the rights of Mani Ratnam’s latest film titled ‘O Kadhal Kanmani’ to remake it.
Karan Johar is ready with this project repeating the magical pair of ‘Aashiqui 2,’ Aditya Roy Kapur and Shraddha Kapoor in this romantic film where they would be playing a ‘live-in’ relationship couple.
Shaad Ali who is popular for his directorial work in ‘Bunty aur Babli,’ would helm this project. This would be his second remake project after his debut film ‘Saathiya’ which was a remake of Mani Ratnam’s film as well.
Karan Johar shared news about this project on his twitter account. He posted:
Mani Ratnam…Gulzarsaab…AR Rahman…Shaad and us present ADITYA ROY KAPUR and SHRADDHA KAPOOR in the official recreation of #okkanmani

This would be the second time for Karan Johar to collaborate with a filmmaker from regional cinema. Earlier, his banner Dharma Productions distributed S.S. Rajamouli’s epic film ‘Baahubali: The Beginning’ in Hindi.
The original film which was released this year in the month of April received good positive reviews turning this into a successful venture at Box office.
So, Let’s wait for this magical pair to come and rule hearts once again. We would be waiting, are you as well?
