Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s father Krishnaraj Rai passes away

Actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan‘s father Krishnaraj Rai took his last breath this afternoon. Rai had been unwell for quite a long time. He suffered from cancer and was undergoing treatment.

Around a month back, he was rushed to Mumbai’s Lilavati Hospital, after his condition deteriorated. The latest reports suggested he was critical.

In the past weeks, we have seen the Bachchan family repeatedly dropping in at the hospital to pay visits. Aishwarya tried to spend as much time as possible with her ailing father. Family friends of the Bachchans including makeup artist Mickey Contractor also paid visits.

The final rites will be performed in presence of family members and close relatives.

Rai is survived by wife Brinda Rai and two children.

We pray his soul rests in peace.
