Akshay Kumar lends a helping hand to farmers

Bollywood Khiladi Akshay Kumar is all set to come to the aid of some farmers in Maharashtra. The actor has decided to financially help 180 families of farmers who had committed suicide. The extreme step was taken by the ill-fated farmers due to the worst droughts faced by Maharashtra.

Sources revealed that Akshay Kumar had donated around 90 lakhs to the farmers families. The step taken by the Singh is Bling actor is not new, as he has been helping them out from past four months now. The actor has set up a team who after a major research had made a list of families in urgent need of help.

Sources said, “Akshay has been setting aside amounts ranging from Rs 50,000 to Rs 1 lakh per family for a few months. This money is sent to almost 30 families. And, this is not something that he has been doing in tandem with an NGO. His team has been directly involved and in touch with these families.”

Not only Akshay Kumar but Nana Patekar too has been helping the farmers.
