As we had reported earlier, it’s been a few days since actor Akshay Kumar started shooting for his next film titled ‘Toilet- Ek Prem Katha’. The actor who is known to be one of the persons who cares for the country’s armed forces made his way to Jammu and Kashmir to spend time with BSF jawans. Actually, Akshay had visited the BSF martyr memorial to pay a tribute to all the jawans who had lost their lives in ceasefire violation by Pakistan in J&K. The actor even termed the BSF jawans as the real heroes of the nation.
Talking about it here, Akshay Kumar said, “I am fortunate that I got the opportunity to come and meet you. I have always said that I’m a reel hero, you (BSF jawans) are the real heroes. I play with toy guns in films but you with original guns on borders. Really, you are big-hearted.”
Akshay Kumar added saying, “You (BSF) jawans should have been here (on the stage) and I should have been at your place. Today I thank BSF for giving me the opportunity to meet you all.”

Not many would be aware but Akshay’s father Hari Om Bhatia was also an army man. And Akshay has even made a donation of Rs 80 lakh to the army and further of Rs 9 lakh to the family of a martyred BSF jawan Gurnaam Singh as well.
“They are decorated with a lot of medals and that is good. The samman (honour) was required for them but they need the money too. You have to be practical,” added the ‘Airlift’ actor.
Before leaving, Akshay even clicked some pictures with the jawans who had queued up to meet him.
