Akshay Kumar on Salman Khan: I admire him from far way and he admires me from far away

It came as a delightful surprise to all of us when Akshay Kumar, Salman Khan and Karan Johar announced their collaboration for a project. Through Twitter they announced that a film is in the making which would have Akshay Kumar playing the lead role and would be produced by Salman Khan and Karan Johar. Now for a Salman Khan venture, one would expect him to star in the same, and not get some other big star on board. But, Salman was sporting enough to give the opportunity to Akshay Kumar. And with this gesture of Salman, Akki seems to be quite overwhelmed.

In his latest interview, Akki was all praise for Salman Khan. “This is the first time that a big actor like himself asked the other actor to sign a film and to do a film. It only happens in Hollywood. It hasn’t happened here. I have never come across anything like this. So, I think it is a great thing and if it goes successful then this can become a trend. Hats off to that man to come up with the fact, to put his own money on the other actor,” he said.

Talking about his friendship with Salman, Akshay sais, “Friendship doesn’t mean we have to meet everyday. We don’t meet everyday. I have never been to his place and he’s never been to my place. But we have a mutual admiration. I admire him from far way and he admires me from far away.”
