Akshay Kumar has something to say on allegations of favouritism over his National Award victory

Just a few days ago, the National Film Awards were announced and Bollywood shined bright with many laurels in its kitty. One prominent name among them was actor Akshay Kumar‘s, as the actor bagged his first National Film Award victory for the movie ‘Rustom’. While praises galore continued pouring in for the actor, certain section of the people thought his win wasn’t justified and felt Aamir Khan deserved to win for ‘Dangal’. Immediately, the chairperson of National Awards, filmmaker Priyadarshan sprung into action and gave a clarification as to why Akshay deserved to win an award and not any other actor. His comments too didn’t go down well with many people and Akshay Kumar is being accused for no fault of his.

The actor finally opened up on these favouritism allegations thrown at him over his victory. Speaking to a popular daily, the actor said, “Itna keh sakta hun mai ki ye award bhi maine imaandari se jita hai. Maine aaj tak cheating nahi ki. Neither have I ever made a call to anyone to win an award nor have given money or done favours for it.” We do agree with the man on this.

On the work front, the actor will next be seen in ‘Toilet: Ek Prem Katha’, ‘PadMan’, ‘Crack’, ‘Gold’ and ‘Mogul’.
