Alia Bhatt started her Bollywood career with ‘Student Of The Year’ in 2012. An out-and-out commercial film, the Karan Johar film didn’t let her do much in terms of acting. However, she was at her diverse best in her second flick ‘Highway’. She continued to deliver power-packed performance in ‘2 States’, ‘Udta Punjab’ as well as commercial films like ‘Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania’, ‘Kapoor & Sons’.
Her upcoming film is ‘Dear Zindagi’ where she plays an aspiring filmmaker who is seeking to solve many of life’s unanswered questions. Prior to the film’s release, Alia tells us she wants to strike a balance between both the genres.
“I like off-beat but I would like to do on-beat films as well. My father once told me that people keep saying ‘I want to do something out of the box’ but then he asked me if I know what is in the box? ‘Have you been inside the box that you want to know what is outside it?’,” she says.

Though it also stars Shah Rukh Khan, ‘Dear Zindagi’ is mostly about Alia and her emotional journeys.
“I am glad that I got the opportunity to do a film like ‘Dear Zindagi’ or ‘Udta Punjab’. I also want to fit into any kind of mould. I also want to do glamorous roles. My career started with one,” she adds.
Good luck lady! You’re going to rock it all.
