After Salman Khan announcing a reward of Rs 1 Lakh for Indian Athletes participating in Olympics, megastar Amitabh Bachchan has come out in support of them. In a recent interview, Big B has appreciated the efforts put in by the athletes and said that it’s not necessary to win medals in the games. Making it to the Olympics and representing the country is more than enough to hold pride.
He said, “They (athletes) need support of the whole country. It’s not an easy task to go up there and perform the way they are doing. I really applaud the fact that they are able to bring the name of the country on an international platform, that’s most credible. It’s a tough job and it’s difficult to be there.”
He further said, “It’s extremely laudable that we had to so much talent there representing the country. It’s another matter that they are not able to bring in medals. But medals are not everything in life. This experience and exposure will help them and I am pretty certain that in the next Olympics in 2020 we will do much better.”
We so agree with what Big B has said! It’s an honour to represent our country on an international platform like Olympics and our athletes are on par with the rest. But at the end, it’s just a game and someone will lose!
