And she is back! Chitrangda Singh all set to make her comeback opposite Saif Ali Khan in ‘Baazaar’

We won’t be wrong if we say that Chitrangda Singh songs is one of the most talented actresses we have in the industry, but unfortunately we haven’t much seen her on the big screen from the past few years. Her last lead role was in the film, ‘I, Me Aur Main’ which had released in 2013. She then did an item number ‘Aao Raja’ in Akshay Kumar-starrer ‘Gabbar is Back’.

However, she is now all set to be back on the big screen with ‘Baazaar’. The actress will be seen playing the role of Saif Ali Khan’s wife in the movie. Reportedly, she has replaced Prachi Desai in the movie, but the producer of the film Nikkhil Advani says that Singh was the first choice for the film.

Advani said, “I’m happy that the cast is looking so exciting. We have Saif, Chitrangda, Radhika Apte and Rohan Mehra (making his acting debut). The shoot has just begun and will be wrapped up by mid-August while the film is slated for a December release. Prachi has expressed interest in working with my production house but that is for another project. As far as the role of Mandira in ‘Baazaar’ is concerned, Gauravv K Chawla, my director, came up with the idea of casting Chitrangda.” (Also Read: It’s confirmed! ‘Go Goa Gone 2’ is in making and Saif Ali Khan is a part of it)

Chitrangda will be seen in a prominent role after a gap of four years, but Nikkhil says that it’s not a comeback. He said, “I won’t call it a comeback but just the fact that she hasn’t done anything for quite some time was instrumental in us considering her because it’s a powerful character that’s silent and simmering, like a volcano about to erupt. Casting her opposite Saif makes the film about strong actors and characters.”

The first look poster of ‘Baazaar’ was unveiled few weeks ago, and Saif’s classy avatar had impressed us a lot.
