Anupam Kher and Shirish Kunder fight on Twitter over Aamir Khan’s “intolerance” statement

The recent controversy over Aamir Khan’s statement on growing intolerance in India has attracted a mixed response. With a lot of celebrities criticizing Mr. Perfectionist for his intolerance remark, there were celebrities who came out in open to support him. This led to a division of audience with two teams getting formed, supporters and protesters.

Veteran actor Anupam Kher and filmmaker, Shirish Kunder too had a virtual debate over this controversy. Anupam Kher was amongst the first ones to respond to Aamir and Kiran Rao’s wish to leave the country. Aamir at a recent event had said that Kiran had expressed her worry over the ongoing incidence and was wondering whether to leave the country and move out as she feels scared for her kids. “She fears what the atmosphere around us will be and this concerns him,” is what he said. To this Anupam Kher had tweeted, “Did you ask Kiran which country would she like to move out to? Did you tell her that this country has made you AAMIR KHAN.” Well, such words coming from a veteran surely make up a point of discussion.

On the other hand, Farah Khan’s husband, Shirish Kunder had an opinion on Anupam Kher’s post and he responded saying, “AamirKhan was talking about Kiran Rao, not Kiran Kher. Hope this clears the confusion. Jai Ho.” This was bound to lead to a heated conversation between the two and Anupam Kher was quick enough to respond by saying, “Omg. Never realized you are so intelligent. Jai Ho.”

Now that’s quite a bit of tussle!
