There is something very common between Arjun Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor; both are miles away from diplomacy. Their upcoming release ‘Ki & Ka’ brings in a fresh take on the pre-set and forced gender roles in the society. Throughout the promotional spree of the film, both the actors were bombarded with questions regarding the same and they remained at their honest best while answering.
During a conversation with Times Of India, Arjun was asked whether men who live life off the beaten path face opposition as well.
“A man can be a homemaker and still be a man. Men are forced to do corporate jobs even if their heart is not into it. People will tell them, ‘Tum ladki thodi ho ke ghar pe baithoge’. If you work out of home, it’s looked down upon. That is the main connect I had with ‘Ki & Ka’. I am not saying we will bring in a change or a revolution, but society has pre-conceived notions and the film will bring that to the fore in a light-hearted way,” Arjun said.
True indeed. Both women and men are still struggling their way as opposed to what’s dictated by the society. We do hope that the film is able to mould thoughts!
Directed by R Balki, ‘Ki & Ka’ releases on April 1.
