The Maggi Noodle controversy has taken a new turn, with a Bihar court now ordering the police to lodge an FIR against Amitabh Bachchan, Madhuri Dixit and Preity Zinta. The three actors have been endorsing the Nestle Product, that was found to be having harmful elements in it.
The Bihar court has even ordered the police to arrest the stars if needed, adding to the woes of the actors now. Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Ramchandra Prasad ordered the SHO of Kazi Mohammadpur police station to also name as accused Nestle India’s MD Mohan Gupta and joint director Sabab Alam. This step by the court was taken after a complaint was filed by a lawyer who alleged that he fell ill after eating Maggi.
Sudheer Kumar Ojha, alleged that he fell ill after eating Maggi which he had purchased from a shop at Lenin Chowk in Muzaffarpur on May 30 . He added that his doctor revealed to him that Maggi noodles contain harmful elements in it. Ojha said he filed the case against the actors as they endorse these products, putting lives of common people in danger for economic gains.
The court has directed the police to lodge the FIR under section 420 (cheating) Sections 270 (malignant act likely to spread infection of disease dangerous to life) and 273 (sale of noxious food or drink). Muzaffarpur SSP Ranjeet Kumar Mishra said the court order was yet to reach the police.
