Filmmaker Kabir Khan thinks that Bollywood is losing more and more talented writers as most of them are choosing to turn filmmakers. He also admitted that how the writers are paid in the present scenario, is not sufficient.

Why this trend? As filmmakers they will get more money and fame and will also have better control on their script they have realised”- said Kabir, during a press conference at IFFI.

He also said that he felt lack of a strong backdrop in present day films and that precisely is the reason why most of his films have a strong political context. “I did feel the lack of a platform while doing documentaries. Mainstream cinema is a powerful medium and that’s why I switched to film. But, I hope to go back to documentaries one day,”- he added.
