Bollywood actor Boman Irani has revealed he is in talks with filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani for a role in the upcoming biopic on actor Sanjay Dutt.
Boman, a regular in Hirani’s films, however, added he has not reached a conclusion yet.
“Of course there have been talks regarding the film and a role but I’ve not made any decision yet,” Boman told PTI.
The biopic, starring actor Ranbir Kapoor in the titular role, will touch upon every aspect of Dutt’s roller-coaster life since the age of 17.
The 56-year-old-actor appeared in Hirani’s debut film ‘Munna Bhai MBBS’ and went on to collaborate with the director in films like ‘Lage Raho Munnabhai’, ‘3 Idiots’ and ‘PK’.
The ‘Happy New Year’ actor said his relationship with Hirani won’t get affected by his decision to do the film or not.
“I am not sure yet. It’s up to me. Our relationship is very nice. He never says I’ve written this role for you and you have to do it. He will say, ‘I’ve written a role, with you in mind, please come and see what your thoughts are’,” Boman said.
“This is how he approaches it. We are best friends. He will ask what I feel about the part, rehearse and come back. I can meet him anytime, no need to fix an appointment.”
Boman, who famously played the character of ‘Dr. JC Asthana’ in superhit ‘Munna Bhai MBBS’, also wished the franchise would have a part three.
“It should happen right? The whole country, the world wants it. The film is dear to people.”
He will be next seen in the comedy ‘Santa Banta Pvt Ltd’.
