Cannes blunder! Foreign media mistakes Sonam Kapoor as Deepika Padukone

This has not come as a surprise to us at all! Foreign media has once again mistaken the identities of two Bollywood actresses. In recent past as well, we have witnessed how all ‘brown skin’ stars are the same to foreign media and this Cannes Film Festival 2017 proved that nothing has changed. So three Bollywood divas viz. Deepika Padukone, Sonam Kapoor and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan shone bright at the Cannes Film Festival 2017. But a certain section of media mistook Sonam Kapoor for Deepika Padukone. A famous American photo stock agency named Sonam Kapoor’s pictures as Deepika Padukone’s and stated, “Indian actress Deepika Padukone arrives for the film ‘The Meyerowitz Stories’ in competition at the 70th Annual International Film Festival in Cannes, France on May 21, 2017.”

Of late, such instances of Bollywood celebs being mistaken by foreign media are on rise. Recently, a video of Deepika Padukone being addressed as Priyanka Chopra by foreign media personnel had gone viral on the internet.
