CONFIRMED! Akshaye Khanna to play Sunil Dutt in Sanjay Dutt’s biopic

While it was recently speculated that actor Akshaye Khanna will be playing veteran actor Sunil Dutt in Rajkumar Hirani’s Sanjay Dutt biopic, the same has now been confirmed by the actor himself.

According to recent reports, Akshaye has been roped in for the role of Sanjay’s father. Akshaye was last seen in ‘Dishoom’ after a gap of four years.

In a recent interview, the actor said, “Once I was in front of the camera, I felt like I was able to breathe again, there was a sense of belonging. I wanted to test the waters before taking on bigger roles. I had to earn my stripes again, after being away for four years. I had to start from scratch like any newcomer.”
