Diljit Dosanjh, who made his Bollywood debut last year, with ‘Udta Punjab’, is a prominent name in Punjabi film industry. The actor is currently busy with the promotions of his second Hindi film ‘Phillauri’. Recently, in an interview with a news agency, Diljit stated that he has never faced any discrimination in the industry.
The actor said, “I have never faced it (discrimination) nor has anybody tried to do bad to me. Whoever I met, they greeted me with respect and love. I never felt any camp system here.” When he was asked what he thinks about the camp system in Bollywood, the actor said, “Yes, when you make films you can have your ‘team’. One team is making a film like this; another will make a different film.”
‘Phillauri’ also stars Suraj Sharma. Diljit’s debut movie too had another actor, Shahid Kapoor, but Diljit doesn’t have an issue with the number of actors in the film, he looks for a good story. The ‘Udta Punjab’ actor said, “I have no such wish, to be honest. I want to do movies with great stories. The content should be strong. I have no problem if there are several actors with me. The number of artistes can vary but the content should be good. I have no such desire (to be solo).” (Also Read: Diljit Dosanjh denies being a part of Akshay Kumar’s film produced by Salman Khan)
“I look at the story and see what I have got to do in the film. Sometimes the story is great, set up is good but there isn’t much for you to do. I don’t want to do that,” he added.
‘Phillauri’, which also stars Anushka Sharma will be hitting the screens on March 24.
‘Eat Sleep Bollywood Repeat’ is his life Mantra. Dance is his first love and Rani Mukerji is his eternal crush. He is someone who loves being himself, and as for the ones who don’t agree, his reply? “Talk to my hand!”
