The makers of India’s first survival drama ‘Trapped‘ had explored 22 buildings before finalising on the perfect location. Touted as India’s first survival drama, the location of the building where the character of Raj Kummar Rao gets trapped is of utmost importance. The director Vikramaditya Motwane has certain requirements from the location and it included a precise geography of the neighborhood along with the layout of the flat and building. The makers did a recce of twenty two buildings before finalising a non-occupied building in the business district of Parel, Mumbai. It took them nearly two months to finalise the shoot location.
The film was canned in a flat on the 30th floor of the building, so as to provide it a realistic approach and treatment. However, the location had its set of obstacles as the elevator was operational only till the sample flat which was on the 25th floor.
The crew would climb the remaining five floors daily with their heavy equipment. There were days when the elevator would not work at all and the crew had to climb thirty floors with the heavy equipment and other necessary items needed for the shoot. The makers finally overcame all these obstacles and delivered an engaging trailer.
‘Trapped’ is helmed by Vikramaditya Motwane and produced by Phantom Films. The movie will be releasing on March 17, 2017.
