“Jhalak Dikhhlaa Jaa Reloaded” winner Faisal Khan says he looks up to Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan and wants to have a career like him.
The 16-year-old Mumbai-based performer won the title after beating celebrities like Shamita Shetty, Mohit Malik and Sanaya Irani. He won a cash prize of Rs 30 lakhs and a SUV.
“Shah Rukh sir is my idol. From being a normal boy, who started his career with TV, to becoming the King of Bollywood, he has proved that a normal person can reach the peak of success with hardwork and sincerity. I shook a leg with him once but if I get a chance I would like to dance with him on ‘Chaiyya Chaiyya’ and ‘Bas Itna Sa Khawaab Hai’,” Faisal told PTI after winning the Colors show.
Faisal began his acting career with popular TV epic “Bharat Ka Veer Putra Maharana Pratap” after making it big with “Dance India Dance Li’l Masters 2”.
But the reality show regular finds his “Jhalak…” win special as he is the first professional dancer to get the trophy in last seven seasons.
“Winning two dance reality shows is a big thing. The fact that I am the first professional dancer to win ‘Jhalak Dikhlaa Jaa…’ gives me immense pleasure. My favourite performance of the season was on song ‘Main Hoon Hero Tera’,” he said.
Though he was competing with many celebrities, the dancer said he always considered himself as the toughest challenger.
“My biggest competition was myself. In every performance I was trying to out do my previous act.”
After excelling in dancing and trying his hands in acting, the teenager now wants to learn music as well.
“I love dancing and acting both. I want to learn music now and become a perfect package. I find playing guitar very cool,” he said.
The eight season of “Jhalak…” was judged by Shahid Kapoor and Malaika Arora Khan while Lauren Gottleib and Ganesh Hegde served as dance gurus.
The gala night saw performances by Shahid and his “Shaandaar” co-star Alia Bhatt, while show’s host Manish Paul shook a leg with Malaika and Lauren. Ace choreographer Ganesh Hegde gave a special performance with the finalists and ex-contestants.
