From the time Kajol entered this glamorous industry of Bollywood, her fans know her just by her first name. Other actresses who hail from the industry carry their surnames’s with pride. Kapoor is an un-detachable identity that’s linked to Kareena, Karisma or Sonam. Likewise, Rani is Rani Mukerji and not just Rani. But, with Kajol, it’s different. Kajol has just been Kajol for years. No one ever referred this beautiful actress as Kajol Mukherjee or Kajol Devgn. But with ‘Dilwale’ this tradition of Kajol just being Kajol is bound to change. Read on.
For the first time ever Kajol will use her surname and her name would be read as ‘Kajol Devgn’ in the credits of the film ‘Dilwale.’ Like in the recent releases of Shah Rukh Khan (Deepika Padukone’s name appeared before SRK in Chennai express), Kajol’s name would not appear before the name of her male co-star as people associate this couple as Shah Rukh – Kajol. So the makers didn’t wish to hinder with that order but, interestingly Kajol’s name would appear with her husband’s surname. This is something which has never happened before.
The movie is no doubt special as it brings back the iconic Jodi of Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol once again on the big screen but, with Kajol turning Kajol Devgn, it makes this movie all the more special.
‘Dilwale’ directed by Rohit Shetty also stars Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon along with Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol Devgn and will release on December 18, 2015.
