Gurmeet Choudhary becomes a proud father, adopts two girls

Yesterday, filmmaker Karan Johar was in the news after the happy announcement that he has turned a father of twin babies, a baby boy and a girl through surrogacy. Now there’s another Bollywood actor who has turned a proud parent of two daughters. And it’s none other than actor Gurmeet Choudhary.

According to a report in a leading daily, Gurmeet and his wife-actress Debina Bonnerjee have decided to adopt two girls from the actor’s hometown Jarampur in Bihar. The girls will be first sent to a school in Patna as Gurmeet feels that it would be more of a culture shock for the girls to come and settle here in Mumbai as of now. Both of them will be there in the school for a year.

Talking about this, Gurmeet has given a statement to that leading daily saying, “After one academic year, they will shift in with us in our Andheri home by 2018. My brother and his family live in Patna and they will be around to see that they are well cared for. Gurmeet and Debina had first met these two girls in year 2014 when they were in Jarampur to attend a family wedding. Gurmeet’s parents told him that Pooja is an orphan and after her first cousin Lata’s father had passed away, both of them shifted in with a distant relative. Later, Gurmeet’s mother got to know that both of them had to work as domestic help for their living, therefore she discussed this with the actor and his wife Debina. Gurmeet says, “After hearing about their plight from my mother, I discussed them with my wife. Debina agreed with me that it was time to give the kids a home, a deserving education and my last name.”

“All the paperwork is done. We will be going to Jarampur for the final signatures after Holi. It is a two-day process. Everybody, including my parents, keep asking me when I’m planning a baby. Well, it’s official now, I’m bringing home two daughters and we couldn’t be more excited,” added the proud father. [sic]

Certainly, the actor and his wife are now blessed to have this two beautiful additions to their family.
