Every actor in Bollywood has his or her own take on nepotism in the industry. While some agree that it exists, some say it is only a myth. And here is another young actor sharing his views on the hot topic.
Anil Kapoor’s son Harshvardhan Kapoor, who made his Bollywood debut with ‘Mirzya’ last year, says that it sure is hard for outsiders to make a mark in the industry. “It’s definitely harder for outsiders. I can’t imagine the amount of hard work and dedication that it takes to make your way through. But, once you do that then it is about how talented you are,” Harshvardhan said. “We have examples like Ranveer Singh, Sidharth Malhotra and Sushant Singh Rajput and then from film families we have Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Sonam Kapoor. There is a good mix. Everything in life has its advantages and disadvantages. It’s all about doing your best,” he added.
The young star is currently working for his next movie ‘Bhavesh Joshi’, directed by Vikramaditya Motwane.
“We’ll resume shooting soon it’s going well. I’m looking forward to the trailer release.”
The actor also revealed that he looks up to Aamir Khan as an inspiration.”I make it a point to watch all films… there are so many amazing actors and I like certain films of certain actors. Aamir Khan was a very big influence, I think, when my generation was growing up. In 2001 ‘Dil Chahta Hai’ came, then ‘Lagaan’ came, then ‘Rang De Basanti’ came… so those were defining films for us when we were growing up,” he said at the music launch of ‘Mirzya’. “That time actors were doing so many films at a time and he (Aamir) decided to work more in isolation and focus on one thing at a time. I like Aamir for his choices for his determination and I also like Ranbir,” he said.
