Not many people know that Anushka Sharma was the first choice to play the role of ‘Tara’ in Imtiaz Ali’s ‘Tamasha’, which was eventually played by Deepika Padukone. However, the actress rejected the film, as she thought the weight was more on Ranbir’s character so she would not have much to do. Well, turns out that it was not a very wise decision, as the movie might not have created records at Box office, but the characters sure stayed in our hearts. Deepika’s character portrayal too, was loved by the critics, even though her screen presence was for a short time.
Recently, when she was questioned if she regrets not doing the film, Anushka stated that she has not yet seen the film and if she had done it, she would have been praised for her performance.
The actress said, “I have no doubt that if I did the film, I would be praised. Any actor in an Imtiaz Ali film will always be good for he is a good director and is very good with his actors.”
Quite a diplomatic answer from an intelligent lady. Anushka is all set to work with Imtiaz Ali on his next project, which also stars Shah Rukh Khan.
