Priyanka Chopra talks about her Punjabi film and demonetisation move

Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s demonetisation move has certainly taken a toll on much of the movies ready for a release in the coming weeks. After Bollywood’s erotic crime thriller film, ‘Wajah Tum Ho’ had to push its release ahead by a couple of weeks, now its time for producer Priyanka Chopra to be the latest one to get affected due to this move. Priyanka’s upcoming Punjabi film ‘Sarvann’ was scheduled to hit the screens on December 9, but now it has been postponed to January 2017.

Recently, the makers had a joint meeting where they have come to a conclusion to shift the release date of the movie by a month due to the current economic challenges faced by all.

Priyanka’s mother, Madhu Chopra has given a statement, “Considering the short term economic challenges faced by the people, we decided to shift the release date of the movie on the auspicious day of Lohri on 13th January.”

Produced by Priyanka’s production house Purple Pebble Pictures, ‘Sarvann’ is her second project after ‘Ventilator’, a Marathi movie which had released this year in November.
