Here’s why Javed Akhtar considers Shabana Azmi as ‘Trophy Wife’

‘Trophy Wife’ is a term that most of the females won’t be comfortable getting associated with! But Javed Akhtar has no qualms in calling his wife Shabana Azmi a trophy wife, not because she is good for nothing, but she is so capable and deserving that she wins trophies every now and then.

Shabana Azmi’s performance in ‘Neerja’ has been applauded and awarded in almost every Award Function held this year. Likewise, even at Zee Cine Awards 2017 held recently, Shabana Azmi won the best supporting actress award. On this, a happy husband, Javed Akhtar, was humorously quoted saying, “I have got a trophy wife. My wife has been winning trophies every week, so she’s my trophy wife.”

It’s indeed a sweet thing to say!

Talking about ‘Neerja’ the film has sure made it big with the acknowledgement coming its way. The entire cast, be it Sonam Kapoor, the supporting actress Shabana Azmi or the actor who played a terrorist, Jim Sarbh, everyone has bagged various awards at different award ceremonies. It was a story based on the life of a purser on Pan American World Airways flight, Neerja Bhanot, who sacrificed her life to save people on board.
