Actress Nargis Fakhri is essaying the character of Sangeeta Bijlani, the former wife of controversial cricketer Mohammad Azharuddin in the upcoming film ‘Azhar’. While the full cast of ‘Azhar’ is promoting the film round the clock, Nargis sadly won’t be able to be a part of the final rounds of promotional events. Reason? A bad health!
“Nargis, despite being unwell, has been going all out and promoting the film. Her doctors now have strictly advised rest as she has been working around the clock. She also had to cancel out a couple of promotional events in Dubai due to ill health and has had to now cancel Delhi. The actress also fainted on the sets of the film’s ‘Oye Oye’ song shoot and has been battling with ill health for a while. However, being the professional that she is, she has tried her best to keep with all her commitments. The cast and the crew along with the producers, have been very understanding and have told Nargis to rest and recuperate as that’s the first priority. In the meanwhile the team of Azhar will go ahead with the promotions but Nargis will have to give the last leg of the campaign a skip on account of ill health,” a source was quoted saying to Business of Cinema.
Based on real life events in Mohammad Azharuddin’s life, ‘Azhar’ is already creating the right amount of curiosity. Emraan Hashmi will essay the titular role, while Prachi Desai will be seen playing Naureen, Azharuddin’s first wife.
Directed by Tony D’Souza, ‘Azhar’ will release on May 13.
