Here’s why Varun Dhawan got drunk on the sets of ‘Badrinath Ki Dulhania’

Bollywood’s latest heartthrob Varun Dhawan recently got drunk on the sets of his upcoming film ‘Badrinath Ki Dulhania’. Yes, the handsome hunk recently had some neat pegs of whisky and got drunk on the sets of the film. Let us reveal the reason behind Varun taking such a step at his workplace. He consumed liquor to do an emotional scene for the film in which he was to act intoxicated. The dedicated actor that the ‘Dishoom’ star is, he decided to an authentic job of the scene by consuming whisky.

It is known that several Bollywood actors resort to method acting. Looks like Varun Dhawan too decided to follow the much-trodden path. Sources revealed, “Varun had a few drinks, that too neat, to prepare for the scene. The idea worked, as the scene went off well. Even the director (Shashank Khaitan) praised his performance. Varun knew that he could not have managed such a natural performance without those drinks.”

Sources further added, “Varun is an occasional drinker, as he is a fitness freak. In real life, he prefers to maintain a distance from alcohol. If there’s a party or a special occasion, he may have one drink. But he knew that it was important for the scene.”

The ‘Dilwale’ star had a good sleep to overcome the effects of the whisky, after canning the emotional scene. He had done the same for ‘Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania’ which became a blockbuster.

‘Badrinath Ki Dulhania’ also stars Alia Bhatt and is currently slated to release on March 10, 2017.
