Adnan Sami celebrates his first birthday as Indian on Independence Day

Popular singer Adnan Sami, formerly a Pakistani, had received his certificate of Indian citizenship early this year and today he is more than happy to welcome his 43rd birthday as an Indian citizen for the first time. Adding much to his happiness is the fact that ironically, his birthday falls today, on August 15, which marks India’s Independence Day.

Born in Britain and holding a Canadian citizenship too, the ‘Bhar Do Jholi Meri’ singer took to his Twitter account to share this proud moment with everyone. He wrote: “Feeling proud that today I celebrate my birthday for the first time as an Indian with My India. Happy Independence Day India.”
