Alia Bhatt shoots for a song with real life hockey players

Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt will be seen in a never seen before avatar in upcoming film ‘Udta Punjab’. The Bhatt girl is depicting the role of a hockey player in the Abhishek Chaubey directorial. The ‘2 States’ actress has confessed that she had to undertake a special training to lend authenticity to her character.

Alia also shot for a song in the film in which she had some special girls for company. The girls were real life hockey players who had come together from several colleges in Mumbai. Their motivation and hard work truly impressed Alia who said, “The girls were cool, tough and inspiring. There was so much that I learnt from them about the sport. It was a fun shoot as we clicked a few selfies.”

On her training, Alia revealed, “I was given a coach and we trained at a place in Bandra. I would reach at around 6 am. I was also trained by Shah Rukh Khan while shooting for Gauri Shinde’s film. Since I began practising I have realised that hockey is a difficult sport and requires a lot of skill.”

Alia, who is depicting the role of a Bihari migrant, will be seen opposite Shahid Kapoor in ‘Udta Punjab’. Kareena Kapoor and Punjabi films sensation Diljit Dosanjh too play pivotal roles in the film that is all about the rising problems of drug abuse in Punjab.

‘Udta Punjab’ will release on June 17.
