Bollywood actress Esha Gupta is eagerly awaiting the release of her upcoming thriller ‘Rustom’. The movie that stars Akshay Kumar and Ileana D’Cruz will see the ‘Raaz 3D’ actress portraying a negative role for the first time in her career. During a press conference she was heard confessing that initially, she was quite hesitant to play such a character onscreen.
Esha whose last outing at the big screen was in 2014 revealed that she signed the film only after consulting Akshay Kumar her co-star of ‘Rustom’.
Esha said, “Initially, I wasn’t sure about playing a negative character. I was coming back on screen after a while and I was confused if this will be the right choice. That was the time I asked Akshay sir, ‘Should I or should I not?’.
The 30-year-old actress further added, “Priyanka did ‘Aitraaz’, Aishwarya did ‘Khakee’ and people really appreciated their work. I hope the audience will like it as it was something different and exciting for me. Credit for my look in the movie goes to the director, the costume designer and my styling team. Tinu sir had a clear picture of what he wanted my character to look like and stylist got it bang on right.”
Rustom is based on a real-life incident that had taken place in the 1960’s involving a Naval Officer KM Nanavati. The role of the officer Rustom Pavri is depicted by Akshay Kumar in the film with Ileana D’Cruz depicting the role of his wife. The thriller is directed by Neeraj Pandey and will release on August 12, 2016.
