Here’s why Imtiaz Ali chose Anushka Sharma over Deepika Padukone for his next

We had earlier reported that Imtiaz Ali’s next will bring back the ‘Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi’ couple, Shah Rukh Khan and Anushka Sharma on the big screen. Earlier, Deepika Padukone was to star opposite Shah Rukh Khan, but Imtiaz decided not to repeat Deepika as he has worked with her earlier in ‘Love Aaj Kal’ and ‘Tamasha’ and thought the pairing would get a bit jaded.

Also, Anushka Sharma has done lesser movies with SRK as compared to Deepika, that’s also the reason for finalizing the ‘NH10’ actress. He also stated that he had offered ‘Tamasha’ to Anushka, but she had declined the offer saying the role wasn’t meaty enough, so this was Imtiaz’s way of making it up to her.
