Purab Kohli met Indian Army Jawans

Actor Purab Kohli recently got an opportunity to spend time with the Sikh Regiment of the Indian Army in Mumbai, as a part of preparations for his upcoming movie where he plays an army officer. The movie is directed by Nikhil Advani. Purab also got a chance to meet some jawans who had fought in the 1999 Kargil War and was very impressed with the war stories they shared with him.

Purab also spent time observing them in their surroundings, their speech, dialect, body language and parading skills, and it can be expected that all this was part of his research for the upcoming film.

Kohli said to a leading daily, “There’s something about meeting defence personnel. It stirs you from inside. I met some jawans from the Sikh Regiment who are posted in Mumbai. I was intrigued when they told me that they actually prefer being at the border, guarding the nation rather than enjoying the luxuries of a peaceful posting. I was also surprised to know that some of them had seen my previous film, ‘Airlift’ (laughs). They enjoyed the portrayal of patriotism in it.”

Besides his untitled next, Purab will also be seen in the sequel to 2008 ‘Rock On!!’ movie, ‘Rock On!! 2’.
