Filmmaker Karan Johar’s upcoming directorial ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil‘ is touted to be the perfect Diwali gift for the moviegoers. Many are aware that Bollywood’s Baadshah Shah Rukh Khan has done a cameo appearance in this romantic drama, but do you know that SRK was not the first one to be approached for the role? Not SRK, but Saif Ali Khan was the one who was initially approached for this part. But the B-Town’s Nawab couldn’t do the film following an injury.
According to a source quoted in an agency, “Karan had approached Saif for the role in ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’. However, Saif met with an injury during that time and was advised two months rest by his doctors. Karan is like family to Saif and Kareena. In fact it was Saif who told Karan to cast another star for the role, as he wouldn’t be able to shoot for the film.” [sic]
Also, there were rumours floating around that Saif and Kareena were upset with Karan as he chose to cast Shah Rukh Khan for the part when Saif had even agreed to do it.
“These rumours are insensitive and extremely upsetting to Kareena. There is no truth to what is being reported,” a statement issued by Kareena’s spokesperson said.
When it comes to films, Saif Ali Khan will be next seen in ‘Rangoon’ and is even prepping up for ‘Chef’ which is an official remake of a Hollywood film of the same name, helmed by ‘Airlift’ director Raja Krishna Menon.
‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ stars Ranbir Kapoor, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Anushka Sharma playing the leads. It is slated to release on October 28, 2016.
