These days two big budget movies clashing at the box office has become a common phenomena. Now, we hear that Saif Ali Khan starrer ‘Chef’ is going to clash with Shraddha Kapoor starrer ‘Haseena: The Queen of Mumbai’ as both movies will release on July 14, 2017.
A trade insider spoke to a leading daily, “’Haseena’ was announced first. However, with Chef’s release date being announced, it means that the two films will take each other on July 14, 2017.”
The shooting for ‘Haseena’ has just started while ‘Chef’ had already gone on floors before. Saif’s movie will be releasing in July, but before that he has two movies lined up for release; ‘Rangoon’ on February 24 and ‘Kaalakandi’ on April 21. A source said, “His third film had to be spaced out accordingly. July seemed reasonable.”

Here’s what an exhibitor said, “The two films are quite different from each other, so it should not be much of a worry for either actor. ‘Chef’ will target the multiplexes. The title itself has an elitist feel to it. On the other hand, ‘Haseena’ has Shraddha Kapoor playing Dawood Ibrahim’s sister. The title, theme and treatment are expected to cater primarily to single-screen audiences.”
The movie ‘Chef’ starring Saif Ali Khan and Sobhita Dhulipala is helmed by Raja Menon (of ‘Airlift’ fame). ‘Haseena’ starring Shraddha Kapoor in the lead is being directed by Apoorva Lakhia.
