Shocking: Akshay Kumar wished to do MS Dhoni biopic but was refused by director

Did you know that the most awaited biopic of the year ‘M.S. Dhoni – The Untold Story’ had caught the fancy of actor Akshay Kumar earlier? Well, yes, Akki was very much interested to work in the biopic but was refused by the director Neeraj Pandey.

Sushant Singh Rajput has been roped in to play the role of India’s cricketing captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni in the movie. In an interview to a daily, Akshay revealed that he had asked Neeraj to consider him for the role, but the director had politely refused. Khiladi Kumar further revealed that Neeraj told him that he didn’t look like that character. Ultimately, Akshay had no choice but to agree.

‘M.S. Dhoni – The Untold Story’ will be releasing on September 2, 2106.
